shop intaglio prints
What is an intaglio print? It's a family of printmaking in which an image is etched or engraved into a surface plate. The recessed area holds the ink onto which the plate and paper are hand run through a press, transferring the image onto the paper. The edition number is the fraction on the lower right side of each print. For example, "2/8" means the print is the second of 8 in the entire edition. Artists may also create one-offs indicated by "AP" or "1/1." These are not part of the numbered edition and are unique in the ink and paper choices. The artist hand-signs each print.
